Foodie friday madison ct1/17/2024 ![]() ![]() “Saleable” books are contemporary and vintage books that are: NOT dirty, moldy, sticky, chewed, stained, browned, torn, underlined, or highlighted. However, books that are in SALEABLE condition can be dropped off at the Guilford Free Library any time during library hours. There is a container at the front of the Transfer Station amongst the clothing bins for used books. There are containers at the front of the Transfer Station for collecting clothing for various organizations. These reports are filed at the Engineering Department and available for review if anyone is interested. The Town of Guilford files reports about annual waste and recycling with CT DEEP. Tires are also recycled at the following cost: There is a large bin just past the recycling center for these items.Īppliances such as freezers, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, window A/C units and dehumidifiers can be recycled at the transfer station at a cost of $10 per item. Mattresses and box springs can also be recycled for free at the Transfer Station. Please check in with the recycling attendant if you have questions if something can go in the metal recycling bin. The town does not charge residents who drop off fewer than seven televisions or electronics at the Recycling Center. Single Stream Recycling Information – What is acceptable and items that are prohibited. There is no charge for single stream recycling at the Transfer Station We participate in single stream recycling of paper, cardboard, acceptable plastics and glass. The Transfer Station offers many opportunities for recycling. The Transfer Station only accepts credit/debit cards, local check and tickets, which can be purchased at the Guilford Town Clerk’s Office or Madison Building Department. Effective August 1, 2022, the fee will be increased to $9 per 100 lbs. The fee for disposal of trash and bulky waste is $7 per 100lbs ($7 minimum). Bulky Waste includes demolition debris, construction materials, furniture, etc. Disposal of Municipal Solid Waste (trash) and Bulky Waste is by weight. The transfer station is for the use of residents and private contractors who collect trash from Guilford and Madison properties. There will be no charge for disposal.**Īlthough the town has no public rubbish pick-up service the town does maintain the transfer station, where garbage is received and compacted before being trucked to a plant in Hartford, CT. ![]() Waste Oil and Antifreeze can be disposed at HAZWASTE Central on Sargent Drive on Saturdays from mid May 12 until late October.
